How did all this come about, you ask? Well, how Allison and I met is a very interesting story! Back in August, Allison's mother Sherrie found my name listed on RSG, a Doctrines of Grace web page. Then she looked at my home page on the internet. She was very impressed with the content of my home page, and contacted me via the internet. I spoke with her and her husband Nick quite a bit for the next several days. We talked about many things; and I guess I passed the test because they introduced me to their daughter a few days later. I guess you could say that Allison and I hit it off pretty well :) We talked and talked and talked some more. In fact, In September, Allison and I, in addition to electronic communication, talked on the phone for about seventy hours. Yes, 70 hours - I have some very large phone bills to prove that! The more I got to know her, the more excited I became. She’s quite the gurl! She's originally from South Carolina - that's where she lived all of her life until less than a year ago. She was home schooled, and she went to college when she was 16. She graduated with a BA degree in Biblical Languages and Bible. (Yes, she's smarter than I am!) After teaching school for a year after college, she followed her family to North Carolina and started working as a leasing agent at an apartment complex. In addition to being a Christian and blessed with sound doctrine, a great personality, a good education, and a great sense of humor, she’s also drop-dead gorgeous! I’m serious! But anyway, I decided I should go see this new best friend of mine (I finally figured out that it was cheaper to fly her out to Denver than pay the phone company). So in October I went out to NC to meet her for the first time. It was awesome! I stayed with her family for a week and a half. It was nice to get to know them, and also to attend Allison’s church. And when I went back home, marriage was definitely on my mind :) The more that I communicated with Allison and her family, and prayerfully considered the situation, the more I knew in my heart that I loved Allison, she loved me, and that our marriage would be pleasing to God. Then she came down to see me in November and became acquainted with some of my extended family who live close by. After spending a few days in Colorado, we went to spend the Thanksgiving holidays with my immediate family in SD. Then, I took her to see Mount Rushmore, and proposed to her right in front of the Four Faces - I saw them all smile too! After spending another week with my family in SD and with my aunt, uncle, and grandma in CO, she went back to NC. Now, she's staying with her family planning our wedding and honing her homemaker skills. Also, she plans to spend the last half of January out here - you know, just to see if this relationship is y2k compliant or not :) In the mean time, we are going through premarital counseling with her pastor.

Well, that’s how I met the love of my life. I never even imagined that God would chose to use this home page to introduce me the woman He made for me. However, one question remains unanswered. Why in the world does Allison like me? I don’t know; but I sure do thank God that she does!

Update: On March 4th, Y2k, Allison and I were married!
